Try use a simple text like Verdana to begin with and lower the opacity. You don't want your text to be the focal.

When trying to merge an image into the background (of the same colours! Check out my killzone signature for an example) use an eraser and set it with 5-10% Flow.

When you open up the layer settings DON'T click 'Stroke'

For text try use normal plain colours. Black/White and muck about with opacity

I can't find the layer settings, and I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro, so maybe I can't choose layer settings...

With Jasc, you added an outline to your animals. Don't do that.

*reminiscing

Jeez it's been so long since I used PSP, I can't even remember what the process is.

What version are you using? PSP 9?

I can see the green "drop shadow" with no distance lol.

Although, you can make good stuff with jasc *searches for 20 minutes*

Spoiler:

The one thing I did always love about PSP was the ability to quickly produce near industry standard designs. I'm talkin' minutes. But, it is sub-par, less than GIMP. It's just some stupid little programming difference for image quality, but it makes all the difference. The ease of making your own effects was nice.

So in clear, what do I have to do for the outline thing and the blending?

Remove the outline and try to add more to the scene.

So I would add some more stuff to the background, which would kind of overlap the outer part of the ender making it blend? Sorry to be soooo slow at understanding, but i'm a newbie.
