Planetrenders is nice, but I find that sometimes they don't have the pictures that suite what the person wants or needs for their sig. I usually just use google sorry to say

Use stocks, then (*looks for appropriate smiley but can't find any).

What are stocks?

Not-cut image used as a resource. Basically a photo.

So like a person or from google?

Well duh, but just look around I guess for good renders.

Sonetimes it takes a nice long look though, there is a lot to look through and for a newbie it gets harder to look through them all

Quick question to confirm. So stocks are a whole pictre, not edited whereas renders are cut out. I knew renders but was unsure about stocks

stocks are something you put in your work... like an image which is going to be your focus in your sig/coa what ever.. yes they aren't rendered

...............Perhaps it was a giant picture, and say the sun was rendered out, and used as a stock.

Just a lil notice。。。if you have a render with a black bg， just make the layer ”Screen“。 Renders dont have to have transparent bgs。 I dont even use planet renders for some。。。just a picture with a black Bg and set to SCREEN。

So what is the difference then - like could I give you photo of my tatt and you could turn that into a sig? Not asking you too - just curious

Renders are easier to work with as you don't have to take any background into account.
Stocks have background, which has to be removed/masked/incorporated into the sig.

Hence the renders are easier to work with, but there are limited variety of them available. Stocks are more interesting to work with and there is an almost infinite supply of them available (or you can take your camera, go out and takt the pic you wish to make the sig from).

I don't remember ever using a render for my own sig, just because that there never is a one available.

I took some picks today that I might use in a sig eventually ... is that a stock then im guessing.

Might sound nooby but what happened if I take a picture and cut it out. Is it then a render or a stock ???

Render I guess...Actually I don't use planet renders. I just google a pic and cut it out using the Paths tool

If I need to render something I use the background eraser and then just the eraser tool :/ Im not good at rendering though so have to use planet renders most of the time
